Food Policy

YOU MUST CONTACT THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR AT 724-770-0262 TO ARRANGE ALL FOOD REQUIREMENTS

Food service options for groups staying at Hosanna Industries’ Campus:

1.                  You may purchase your meals at local restaurants and/or fast-food establishments located within a 15 -minute drive of     campus.  There are local pizza delivery services nearby, also.

 2.                You may bring, or purchase locally at various major grocery stores and/or convenience stores, your own food and        groceries and prepare your own meals in the Dormitory kitchen.  There are refrigerators and freezers available for your use.   Your group is responsible for the cleanliness of the entire Dormitory, including the dining and food preparation areas, kitchen utensils, dishes and cooking equipment.  When you leave, no food products belonging to your group are to be left in the Dormitory.

3.                 You may have some or all meals prepared by Hosanna Industries.  Our Food Coordinator, Dee Adams, if schedule allows, will purchase provisions and prepare meals.  She may be able to accommodate your special dietary concerns (i.e. vegetarian, allergies, etc.).  Please notify the Volunteer Coordinator of these concerns as soon as possible.  Cost is $3.00 for breakfast, $3.50 for lunch (bag or dining room), and $6.00 for dinner per person.

4.         Full payment for your group’s food services are payable to Hosanna Industries no later than one (1) month prior to the group’s arrival at Hosanna Industries.

Volunteer groups that will be working in the field with Hosanna Industries should plan meals according to the following typical schedule:

·           In the morning your group’s breakfast should be eaten, the lunches packed by group members and loaded in vehicles prior to meeting with staff in the Morledge Chapel.  (For specific time, see the volunteer coordinator at time of orientation)

·           Your packed lunch may be stored in coolers provided by the mission, if desired.  Lunchtime is typically 20-30 minutes in duration and is eaten on site with the client household, volunteers, and staff.  Volunteers are discouraged from leaving work site during lunchtime.  Volunteers under age 18 will not be permitted to leave site without adult supervision.  Adult leaders may not leave their group unattended.

·           Dinner on campus should be typically planned for approximately 6:00 or 7:00 PM.

·           Meal schedule is subject to modification on a daily basis depending on project.  The Volunteer Coordinator will give instructions for scheduling meals.  Due to the nature of Hosanna Industries’ work and the range of our regional territory, daily mealtime schedule adjustments may be necessary.  In such cases, the Volunteer Coordinator will inform the group leader(s) accordingly.

·          If you and your group are working with Hosanna Industries on a Saturday, yourlunch will be provided for by Feed the Flock at no charge to your group.
